1inch piecefresh turmeric (peeled and sliced)or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric, plus ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2tbsplemon juice(about ½ a large lemon, peeled to prevent bitterness)
⅛tspcayenne pepper
½cupunsweetened coconut water
⅛tspmineral salt
Instructions
Start by peeling and slicing the ginger. Measure out the pineapple chunks and raw honey.
Combine pineapple, ginger, raw honey (or maple syrup), and any optional add-ins in a blender. Add water or coconut water if needed.
Blend until smooth and pourable.
Strain through cheesecloth or a fine-mesh sieve for a silky texture. (Note: Straining removes some fiber and nutrients but gives a smoother drink.)
Alternative Method: If you have a juicer, run the pineapple and ginger through it, then whisk in honey (or maple syrup) and any spices.
Serve about 2 ounces per shot, chilled or over ice.
Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze in ice-cube trays for longer.
