Date Night ideas on a budget
Budget date night ideas aren’t hard when you use a little imagination.
The excitement of getting to know some for the first time, or even when trying to find the chemistry in a relationship that has stalled can seem a little intimidating. Even dating while in a pandemic presents its own set of issues. Here are some ideas for inspiration, no matter your situation.
A date night at home

I know this one seems obvious but hear me out!. You can take a virtual cooking class as a couple which leads to new online friends and an incredible experience that takes the pressure off of you. You can play couples games or get to do puzzles. One of my favorite things is reading passages of romance novels to get your significant other’s opinion, but if that doesn’t work, pull out the twister mat and go for it. Trust Me!
A picnic

If you are an outdoorsy couple but don’t like the idea of big crowds, a picnic is perfect. There are companies that can create the perfect date for you or you can do it yourself. Charcuterie boards are all the rage right now. You can totally pack this idea up and do jarcuteries in a nice picnic basket (Amazon has them as low as 14.99!) This can be lavish or simple. Look up free local movies or jazz in the park nights. This is one date that won’t hurt your budget but will do wonders for your relationship.
Going for a walk and takeout coffee

Sometimes you just need a chance to reconnect or an opportunity to get to know someone without spending hours on the phone. Try going for a walk and grabbing a takeout coffee. Going for a walk and talk allows you to spend some quality time with one another without distractions. Grabbing a small bite or coffee at the local coffee shop gives you something to have in your hands if you’re the type that fidgets when nervous.
Workout together

If you and your partner are into working out this may be a fun opportunity. However, if you are interested in someone who values working out, asking them if you can join may open up some opportunities you wouldn’t get otherwise. Now I’m not advising you to crash someone’s gym routine that like super serious. Maybe ask if they can show you some pointers on the mat (wink). Swimming always counts as a beautiful exercise class so being in water may be a fun idea as well.
Go to a museum

Museums are often free to enter, and have some interesting exhibits to look at, so a great date could be to head to one. Going to an art museum or an opening night exhibit could lead to a super fun date. It’s not about being a conessiour of art as much as this is about connecting and talking. People’s opinions of art can tell you a lot about them. Remember to listen actively as this new love interest, or established partner speaks. Perhaps it is one you have been before or seek out somewhere new. Many museums offer different exhibits throughout the year, so you may find that there could be something that fascinates you both.
Hopefully, this has given you plenty of ideas for budget-friendly date nights.
